Following on from a very successful gathering in Tallinn, Estonia in 2007, the International Branch has done a lot of work on the planning and setting up of the second IB weekend in Dunfermline in October 2009.
To get things going there will be a ceilidh on the Thursday evening before the weekend in the Del Farquharson centre after the weekly rehearsal of the Dunfermline Strathspey and Reel Society. The formal weekend programme includes two large dances on the Friday and Saturday evenings in Dunfermline High School and dancing classes in the Duloch Leisure Centre throughout the Saturday and Sunday morning. Considerable help and assistance is being provided by the Dunfermline Branch of the RSCDS, and in addition to that travelling long distance, many local dancers will also be taking part in the event.
Teachers and musicians have been chosen to make our weekend memorable:
The teachers team will be Stella Fogg, David Queen and Patrick Chamoin.
We will be dancing to the wonderful live music of John White, Andrew Lyon, Andrew Knight and Philippe Kocian.
